Scriptures

“Feast upon the words of Christ, for behold the words of Christ will tell you all things that ye should do”

2 Nephi 32:3

We have been memorizing scriptures as a family for 5 years now. We start when they are old enough to talk with song and hand motions.  The blessings that have come into our home because of this have been great.  Because we can’t be with our children 24/7 they need to know where to turn when they have a problem.

But, don’t just take it from me.  Learn from the pro’s.  Here is what they have to say about it:

“May I suggest that in our family night gatherings we make it a project to memorize one scripture citation a week pertinent to this work. At the conclusion of a year our children will have on their lips a fund of scripture which will remain with them throughout their lives.”
~Gordon B. Hinckley,~

“I have a vision of thousands of missionaries going into the mission field with hundreds of passages memorized from the Book of Mormon so that they might feed the needs of a spiritually famished world.”
~Ezra Taft Benson~

“Jesus then went into the wilderness; Lucifer came tempting Him. Jesus deflected each temptation with scripture.
‘It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone.’
‘It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.’
‘It is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.’
Think on it carefully. When facing Perdition himself, the Lord drew upon scriptures for protection.”
~Boyd K. Packer~

I want to help fulfill those visions.  Take the challenge now to memorize 1 scripture a week with your family, and see how God blesses your home.
